This is why I love the thrift store.

Not cheap... frugal.  That's my shopping motto.  I don't have any need to load up on junk or fill my house with clutter.  When I need something I always check the thrift store first, you just never know.  The key is being able to walk out the door empty handed and being just fine with that.  It's not coming with me unless it's what I was looking for, useful, or beautiful; just because it's cheap doesn't mean it's a good deal.

On to my story... Acacia's birthday is next Friday and we REALLY wanted to get her a dollhouse with a doll family and basic furniture.  Nothing too fancy.  I have a dollhouse shell that I have been "working on" for a year (actually, it's hidden in the back of the kid's closet).  We just weren't making progress on it and we couldn't find the right family or furniture for it.  So we hit the thrift.

SCORE!!!

I found this new- in it's original packaging- Melissa & Doug dollhouse WITH furniture and WITH a doll family.  It retails on the Melissa & Doug website for $120.  I bought it for $12.95!  For real. Don't hate.

Preach it! Was this at red white and blue?

The hardest part of the thrift store is leaving empty handed!

Excellent score. Acacia will love it!

What a find! You go, Girl! I love it! Just think of all the hours of imaginative play Acacia will have with this.
