Last night at our women's bible study, Acacia fell and sliced open one of her little fingers. It was pretty scary. At first we couldn't figure out where the blood was coming from, but then we saw her little hand covered in blood. It was quite a scene, I'm sure. By the time I got to the car, we both had blood splattered all over.
I took her to the Mt. Sinai ER because it's closer, but that was a big mistake. From now on, I will always take her to Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital. If there is anything that necessitates going to the ER, it's worth going just a few extra minutes to a place that specializes in little ones.
They finally found someone that would do stitches on such a little finger and got the special sutcher kit from the surgery wing and the stitched her right up. Three little stitches on her right ring finger. With any luck, she'll have a little scar like her papa got from an incident with a can of tuna 5 years ago. How cool to have a matching scar with your dad!
So you don't worry, she's just fine. She's just sleeping in a little since we didn't get back until nearly 1 am.
brave little muffin.
